Dunfermline have continued their recruitment drive by signing Rangers central defender Lewis Mayo and Hibs midfielder Fraser Murray on loan.
Scotland under-21 international Mayo will be at East End Park for a year and leaves Ibrox with the blessing of boss Steven Gerrard.
The 20-year-old has been with Rangers from the age of seven and has worked his way up through their academy.
Although he has yet to make a senior appearance for the Light Blues, he playein and scored in a 5-0 pre-season win over Oxford United at Ibrox last summer and went on to play in three Challenge Cup games for Rangers colts as they reached the semi-finals.
Mayo went out on loan to Partick Thistle earlier this year and actually played in the last league match before lockdown against Dunfermline.
The player said: “I am delighted to be here.
“I think there is a lot to look forward to.
“It has obviously been a difficult situation with everything going on but this is the positive end of it and I am looking forward to what happens.
“I am from Lenzie and have been at Rangers for my whole football career, so that is home to me.
“I played three games while on loan to Partick before football got shut down.
“I enjoyed getting that taste of competitive football and playing in the Scottish Championship.
“That was part of the decision on coming back out on loan again this season.
“I wanted to go and really have a go at it and fight for a place somewhere. I think Dunfermline is the right place for me to do that.”
Just hours after Mayo was announced, the Pars unveiled Murray as their latest fresh face.
Murray’s link with the Pars was revealed in the Courier in early August and he, too, has signed a season-long loan.
He said: “You want to come to a team and do well, play as much as you can but help the team get three points and get promoted to the Premier League.
“You have to aim high when you come on loan to a team.“
