Raith boss Gary Locke anxiously waiting for results of player’s medical tests

Raith Rovers boss Gary Locke has revealed that Scott Robertson has had blood tests in a bid to establish the causeĀ of his on-going groin problems.

The former Scotland midfielder has only featured twice for the Kirkcaldy side this season and underwent surgery back in August.

His recovery looked to be well on track with the 31-year-old making his comeback for the Under-20s last month.

However, he suffered a reaction and was experiencing pain with the club sending him back to see a specialist.

Now, Locke is anxiously awaiting results of the tests, although there is better news on other long-term injured players.

The manager said: ā€œScott has been to see the specialist and it could be he has had the reaction because of an infection.

ā€œSo he has had blood tests and we are now waiting on the results to see whether it can be cleared up with a course of antibiotics.

ā€œHowever, Bobby Barr has returned to training which is good news.

ā€œCraig Barr is also stepping up his recovery and is doing a fair bit of running. If he suffers no reaction, then he might attempt some twisting and turning at training this week.

ā€œJason Thomson is coming along and is at the same sort of stage as Craig.ā€

Meanwhile, Raithā€™s William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round tie at home to Hearts has been moved to Sunday, January 22nd with a 1.05pm kick-off as the game will now be shown live on the BBC.
