A miserable run of form has taken Dunfermline from league leaders to outside the play-off spots since the Pars and Brechin last met.
Twelve games have been played by the East End Park side since they put three past Darren Dods’ men at Glebe Park at the end of September, and only two of that dozen have been victories.
Now the Angus side will be trying their best to turn up the pressure on a team on the slide.
Dods said: “I saw in the papers this week that Allan Johnston was asking the Dunfermline fans to be patient and that the team needed their support.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to use that situation to our advantage.
“The first goal is always important in any game but that will certainly be the case tomorrow. If we can get it then we can see how they will react.”
The postponement of Brechin’s match at Falkirk last weekend meant Dods could check out the Pars in person.
“They were unlucky to lose to St Mirren,” he reported. “They deserved a draw.
“They’ve got a lot of good players – especially going forward.
“We’ll need to be at our best to beat them.”
James Dale and Willie Dyer are available, while Andy Jackson is pushing for his first start since returning from injury.
