League One leaders Brechin City and in-form Livingston will serve up a mouthwatering main course at the Tony Macaroni Stadium today.
City sit proudly at the top of the table with 13 points out of a possible 15 in the league this season following their thrilling 3-2 home win over Airdrie.
Livi sit just behind them in joint second spot alongside Alloa on 12 points after winning away to the Wasps last weekend.
Brechin boss Darren Dods knows the trip to West Lothian will stretch his players to the limit but he is confident they can carry on their good work.
Dods said: “This should be a really good game and not just because the teams are so close together in the league.
“Both sets of players are playing well and Livingston got a great result against Alloa (a 3-1 win) and also scored five against the young Celtic side in the Irn Bru Cup the week before.
“They will be full of confidence but so are we.
“The players did really well to come back like they did against Airdrie and we were worthy winners in the end.
“A few things went against us in that game but the lads stuck in there and got the result we wanted.
“Now we need three points to keep the run going.”
Dods will give keeper Graeme Smith a late fitness test after he was injured against the Diamonds and had to be replaced by deputy Paddy O’Neill after just 33 minutes.
O’Neill will start if Smith doesn’t recover in time, while Alan Trouten is available again.
