Montrose manager Stewart Petrie has urged his players to bounce back from their derby disappointment when they face Edinburgh City today.
The Gable Endies had their noses in front against Arbroath at Links Park last weekend thanks to a fine strike from on-loan Dundee United frontman Matty Smith.
The Gayfield men scored three times after the break to take all the points back down the road but Petrie doesn’t want his men to dwell on that.
“What we have to do is bounce back from that match,” he said.
“Dick Campbell has a very good side at Arbroath and I think had we taken anything from the game it would have been a bonus.
“They changed things at half-time and came back at us and that was a disappointment.
“We move on, though, and it’s about the bigger picture for us.
“The teams at the top have created a bit of a gap so we have to concentrate on our own situation.
“We are not kidded that it will be an easy game down at Edinburgh City because they have really settled into the league and are proving to be a real handful for teams.”
Montrose will be without Callum MacDonald at Meadowbank because of work commitments, while Iain Campbell, Chris Hegarty and Paul Watson are all still battling back from injury.
