St Johnstone are set to sign former Harrogate Town defender, Matty Foulds.
Left-back is a priority position that head coach, Simo Valakari, has been looking to address this summer, with Andre Raymond on the transfer list.
Taylor Steven and Morgan Boyes can both play there but neither is an out-and-out full-back.
Foulds has found a home in that part of the pitch in recent seasons, having started out as a centre-half.
He came through Bury’s academy before Everton paid an undisclosed fee to take him to Goodison Park in January, 2016.
A move to Serie C with Como followed before Foulds clocked up several seasons in England’s lower leagues, first at Bradford City, then Harrogate.
The defender was released by the EFL League Two club, who loaned Stephen Duke-McKenna to Perth last season, in the summer.
After an initial five-signing flurry at the start of the transfer window was followed by a lull, Saints are picking up the pace again with pre-season friendlies about to begin.
A fee has been agreed with Caernarfon Town for their prolific striker, Louis Lloyd. Â
