Motorists were hit by “significant disruption” on the A90 dual carriageway between Dundee and Forfar due to a van on fire on Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle was engulfed in flames just after 3.45pm and firefighters spent around half an hour dealing with the blaze. Nobody is believed to have been injured in the dramatic blaze, which took place on the southbound carriageway about seven miles north of Dundee. Police were made aware of the incident. A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “One van was on fire, well alight. “One hose reel jet and breathing apparatus were used. A Tayside Police Division statement read: “A van is on fire beside the S/B A90 about seven miles north of Dundee. “Smoke is affecting both carriageways and there is potential for significant disruption. Please be aware and drive with caution.”
