Final chance to view masterpiece at British Golf Museum

A world famous golfing masterpiece can be seen for the last time in St Andrews before it returns to Edinburgh.
Charles Lees’ painting, The Golfers, is on loan to the British Golf Museum.
People will be able to view it there, just yards from the Old Course which it depicts, for free this weekend before it goes back to the National Galleries of Scotland.
The iconic work by the Cupar-born artist was completed in 1847 and shows a match being played over the Old Course, watched by around 50 spectators.
Museum visitor relations manager Judy Chance said, “We will be sad to see The Golfers go. It is such an important painting in the world of golf and visitors love to see it in St Andrews. But an exciting new exhibition will replace it soon.”
