East Neuk Festival takes in even more breathtaking venues

If there’s one thing about the East Neuk Festival, it’s always looking ahead. Each year’s individual programme is lovingly crafted to highlight some of the best classical music in the repertoire.

The East Neuk Festival runs from June 29 until July 3, showcasing some of the most stirring and affecting music and musicians in the classical canon.

2011’s seventh outing for the five-day event showcases the beauties of the Fife coast and its architecture.

In addition to favourite venues Crail, Kilrenny, St Monans and Cellardyke, plus local halls in the area, the event includes two new venues the Younger Hall in St Andrews, for the first time since the festival’s first year, and the tiny but atmospheric All Saints Church, also in St Andrews.

East Neuk-based artist Hilke MacIntyre will have her own show of paper and ceramic works on display at Crail Church Hall and last year’s amazingly successful sand sculptors are back with the Sand in Your Eye team taking to the beach at Elie to create a special bespoke piece of outdoor art.Visit www.eastneukfestival.com for more information.
