Mumford & Sons and Rihanna will headline the 20th anniversary of T in the Park at Balado, Kinross, next summer.

Organisers DF Concerts have announced the headliners for T20 today and, as an extra-early Christmas present for the fans, a limited amount of tickets at last year’s prices go on sale from Friday at 9am.

The line-up announcement also includes Mercury Music Prize winners alt-J, Paloma Faith, Jake Bugg and Of Monsters and Men.

Hot on the heels of their sell-out UK tour, including a Caird Hall concert last week, Mumford & Sons have stormed charts across the world with second album Babel.

A phenomenal live band hailed for their high-octane performances, Mumford & Sons’ set promises to be a hotly-anticipated performance.

Rihanna’s global domination shows no signs of slowing down with the release of Unapologetic her seventh album in as many years.

With over 180 million records sold worldwide, six Grammy Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards and two Brits to her name, the international megastar is the world’s most followed star on social media and the top-selling digital artist of all time.

Alt-J were one of the hottest breakthrough acts on the T in the Park 2012 bill and the quartet became a household name this month when their debut album, An Awesome Wave, scooped the Mercury Music Prize.

The band said: ”It’s an absolute honour to be invited back to play at Scotland’s biggest and best music festival we can’t wait.”

Paloma Faith’s sassy, retro soul-pop blend will add a touch of vintage glamour to the T20 bill, while around the time he was delighting the Reading Rooms audience in Dundee Jake Bugg became the youngest British male to debut at No 1 when his self-titled album was released this year.

Festival director Geoff Ellis said: ”Seems like only yesterday that the first band took to the stage at Strathclyde Park for our inaugural T in the Park in ’94.

”Now, here we are in 2012 announcing two of the world’s biggest and best acts to headline our 20th edition.”
