Webster Theatre in Arbroath hosts the Angus District leg of a one-act play competition on Saturday.
Organised by the Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA) the annual event sees theatre groups across Scotland compete over a series of heats.
Carnoustie Theatre Club’s youth division will perform Sandgran by Brian McGuire, while Kaims Players Youth Theatre from Montrose will take to the stage with Death of an Angel by Young Theatre and Helen Sharman.
The adult division of Carnoustie Theatre Club will perform a new play entitled Daisies, which was written by former member Lisa Nicoll.
All drama clubs will face public comments and judging by Glasgow director Ronnie Mackie on the evening.
The winners will progress to take part in the next round at Birnam Arts Centre from March 24 to 26, with the best youth group going forward to the Youth Divisional Finals in Kirkwall on Saturday, March 12.
Meanwhile the theatre will host a small film festival called Jennifer’s Bodies on Monday next week, which is to celebrate Women in Horror Recognition Month.
