A stunning gown from the 18th century is the centrepiece of this year’s exhibitions at Fife Folk Museum.
The museum in Ceres opens its doors for 2011 on Friday and is proud to have a sack-back dress from the 1770s.
Thanks to funding from Fife Decorative and Fine Arts Society and Museums Galleries Scotland, the frock has been conserved at the Scottish Conservation Studio at Hopetoun, South Queensferry.
There is also a recreation of a blacksmith’s shop; a toys, togs and tawse display and a model of the Cults lime works.
A special exhibition marks 30 years of Ceres Lace Group.
