Football mad Cupar lad Christopher Ruxton was so moved by the plight of children affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan that he set up his own charity challenge to help them, by dribbling a ball across the Tay Bridge and back.
The St Leonards pupil has raised £260 for Save the Children which is working to provide Japanese children with clothes, toys and safe places to stay while the search continues for their families.
Christopher’s mum Carrie Fox said, “I am really proud of him as it was his own idea after seeing the pictures on TV.
“Over 100,000 children have been affected by the disaster but it is good to know that this fund-raising will help them.”
