A local beauty queen has been chosen to sit on the selection panel of the UK’s top modelling competition.
Elaine Harris was a finalist in Top Model UK 2014 and has now been invited to join the Grand Finalists Selection Panel for 2015.
The 33-year-old’s modelling career took-off after reaching the finals last year and she recently modelled for couture label Kolchagov Barba at London Fashion Week.
She has also been snapped by companies across the world, with American Fashion Couture Magazine being the latest publication to run a feature on her remarkable career.
She told The Courier: “It is amazing to have been invited to join the interview panel for UK Top Model 2015.
“This time last year I was in the same position as all the models and I was delighted to make it through to the finals.
“I would never have imagined at my interview that my modelling career would take off internationally to such an extent that I would be back one year later on the selection panel.”
Top Model UK said they were delighted to have Elaine in their team.
A spokesperson for the competition said: “We have been closely following Elaine’s progress as a model since she took part in Top Model UK earlier this year and she has become an excellent model for both mature and young girls alike.
“We always like to keep in touch with our former finalists and are delighted to have Elaine as part of our 2015 Grand Finalists Selection Panel in November.”
Her selection for the premier event tops an already remarkable year for the Dundonian who, after setting up a Facebook page, has now found herself in demand across the world.
She has now left her job to be a full-time freelance model and has attracted the attention of numerous international brands, as well as local businesses.
Swedish brand, Thule, snapped her up for an advertising campaign in America and Europe, while she has also worked for Italian bag company Full Spot.
Top Model UK 2015 takes place in London next month.
