A local charity has high hopes for the success of a fundraising abseil next month.
Dundee Carers Centre is calling for courageous volunteers to descend Dundee University’s Tower Building in an effort to generate support for unpaid carers across the city.
Volunteer Heather McIntosh is among those already gearing up to take part in the event and is encouraging other thrill-seekers to get involved.
“I don’t know where I would be without the phenomenal support of the Dundee Carers Centre,” she said.
“That’s why I’m happy to give a little back. It’s not something I do everyday and I’ve been assured it will be exhilarating.”
The event will take place on June 6 between 1 and 5pm.
Taking part costs £15 and volunteers are asked to commit to raising at least £100 of sponsorship funds.
“The money raised will go towards our ongoing work with carers of all ages across Dundee,” said Tim Mineard of Dundee Carers Centre.
