ByThe Courier Reporter
Genealogists in Fife can now provide even more information for people researching their family history.
Information from the 1911 Scottish census will be published today for the first time and members of the public can access it at St Andrews Genealogy Centre at the town’s local services centre.
The centre already has details of census returns from 1841 as well as statutory birth, marriage and death records from 1855 to the present day for the whole of Scotland.
Old parish records on its files go back even further, to 1553.
Under the terms of the 100-year rule, the 1911 census has been confidential until now.Find out more at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
