Coming up in Tuesday’s Courier A Bombskare

Coming up in Tuesday’s Courier A Bombskare

If you are a terrorist hellbent on blowing up a plane it would probably be best not to wear T-shirts with pictures of bombs on them.

If, on the other hand, you are a member of a ska band called Bombskare, wearing just such a garment may be the very dab.

In Tuesday’s Courier we speak to some people who very firmly fall into the latter category. So being ordered to cover up ahead of a flight to Shetland was something of an inconvenience. Not to mention perhaps just a little ludicrous.

We also have worrying news for fat people. Although they may not actually realise it. That’s because too many obese people don’t appreciate they are obese. It’s a weighty issue, but not one we are afraid to tackle.

Alan Hansen is jolly looking forward to the Ryder Cup and hopes lots of people will be wearing tartan at Gleneagles, making it a very colourful spectacle. He would have said “unbelievable Gary” in a rather bored monotone. Only it isn’t. Happy news in Tuesday’s Courier.

All this business about homosexuals and their ever-increasing levels of acceptance by society has caused something of a stooshie in the Kirk. We have news of the Tayside church being ripped apart as its minister simply can’t accept what the devil (so to speak) is going on.

In sport it’s Scottish Cup semi-final week for St Johnstone and Dundee United. Very exciting stuff.

Tommy Wright feels nobody outside Perth wants Saints in the final. I’m sure that’s simply not true but I bet it’s a decent motivational tool.

Meanwhile, Jackie McNamara feels the pressure has been heaped on Rangers. Hard to argue with that one really.

There’s also news of a Dundee signing for next season. Which is intriguing. Not least for those of a dark blue persuasion.

For more on every last one of these news and sport nuggets and indeed a plethora of others too numerous to mention at this somewhat premature juncture please do be sure to pick up your copy of Tuesday’s Courier. Alternatively, I feel I simply have to politely inquire, why not try our digital edition?
