A man accused of assaulting another man and threatening to petrol bomb cars appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday.
Guy Weston (30), of Linlathen, Broughty Ferry, appeared before Sheriff Mhairi McTaggart alleging he assaulted Martin McPhee and brandished a knife or similar instrument at him on February 7 at Linlathen Farm.
He is also accused of, on February 7 at Linlathen Farm, behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm, shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence and threatened to petrol bomb cars. He is further accused of, on the same date, being in unlawful possession of a knife.
Weston made no plea or declaration, and was refused bail.
The case was continued for further examination and Weston was remanded in custody.
Six police vehicles, including dog handlers, were called to the scene north of the Clearwater Park housing estate off the A92 Dundee to Arbroath road last Thursday.
Police had blocked the access road to Linlathen Neurodisability Centre, which leads on to a farm and cottages.
