Montrose residents have the opportunity to see how a new spine road will transform their home town.
Angus Council’s public information day will showcase the new route, which is being developed to improve access and stimulate investment in the area.
Work began on Ferry Road and Barrack Road in October 2014 and continues until April.
This includes road realignments, resurfacing of roads and footpaths, street lighting and landscaping.
Scottish Enterprise is funding the £550,000 works programme.
Further work at Wharf Street, River Street, Mill Lane and Ferry Street, will include major road realignment, a new section of road leading to Caledonia Street, demolition works, roads and footpaths resurfacing, street lighting and landscaping.
Council funding, costs and timescales are being finalised.
There is significant optimism for Montrose’s future, not least with lifting products and services firm Certex taking on a new 30,000 square feet premises and Montrose Port opening a new £6 million quay.
The public information event is at the George Hotel, George Street, on Wednesday January 21 from 9.30am to 8pm.
