Police were called to the accident on the A937 at Hillside, near Montrose, just before 6am after a tanker struck the bridge. The road was closed in both directions while engineers from Network Rail carried out checks. A Police Scotland spokesman said it was a “minor accident” with no injuries. They confirmed the scene was later cleared, with all restrictions lifted. A ScotRail spokeswoman said: “One service was delayed by around two minutes as a result of the bridge strike at Montrose.”
