ByGraham Brown
Two people in a van have escaped serious injury after it left the Forfar by-pass and hit a tree.
The crash happened just before 12.30pm and briefly led to the closure of the road.
A Scottish Fire and rescue appliance from Forfar also rushed to the scene of the accident, at the Kirriemuir junction on the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen dual carriageway, but the occupants of the van had been freed from the vehicle prior to their arrival.
Police said that the two occupants of the single vehicle involved are not understood to be badly hurt.
