Report of body in Forfar Loch a ‘false alarm with good intent’
ByThe Courier Reporter
A report of a body spotted in Forfar Loch prompted a huge response from emergency services.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances and the specialist water rescue team from Perth to the scene after the report came into police at 2.20pm on Tuesday.
The search was stood down two hours later after a complete search of the loch, including the launch of a water rescue boat.
Station manager Scott Symon said: “After two hours of searching we were satisfied that this was a false alarm with good intent.
“There were a number of people at the loch at the time but no one else had seen anything on the water or anyone going into the loch.”
