Police have released new images of a man they want to interview in relation to the sexual assault on a woman on January 1. The serious assault occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day in a vehicle parked on or near to the A90 between Aberdeen and Portlethen. The 33-year-old woman got into a car with a man in Allardice Street, Stonehaven, following the town’s annual Fireballs Festival on Hogmanay. After driving a short distance north on the dual carriageway, the driver pulled off the road and the woman was assaulted. The car then continued to Portlethen. The woman was left shaken but uninjured by the incident. The man is thought to have spent part of the evening in Stonehaven town centre. Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
