Officers rushed to Victoria Road after the horrifying find was reported early on Saturday afternoon. Two police units helped seal off part of Dens Brae after locating the remains, amid fears that a tragic discovery had been made. A local expert was also rushed to the scene to assist with the investigation. After just over an hour, it was determined that the bones were in fact that of an animal and the operation was rapidly scaled down. It is thought the remains that were discovered were possibly those of a bird. A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said that the bones had been taken away by officers and would be destroyed in due course.
