Fairytale surprise for patients at Tayside Children’s Hospital

Patients at Tayside Children’s Hospital have been visited by a host of fairy tale characters.

Dundee Rep and the ARCHIE Foundation teamed up to give patients on Ward 30 a surprise visit from the stars of the forthcoming musical production of Little Red and the Wolf by Dundee Rep’s Ensemble and Noisemaker.

Little Red Riding Hood, Lyca the wolf and narrator Lute met young patients of surgical day care Ward 30 in Tayside Children’s Hospital, which provides specialist paediatric care to young people in the region.

The ARCHIE Foundation is currently fundraising £2 million towards the development of a new twin operating theatre paediatric surgical suite for the hospital, which is located within Ninewells.

This will double the specialist paediatric operating capacity at the hospital, making a huge difference for local children needing surgical procedures, from dental to trauma.
