a 112-year-old tram is on track to return to its former glory thanks to the Dundee Museum of Transport.
The electric double-decker was discovered in Cove Bay near Aberdeen where someone had been living in it at one point and it has taken almost two years to organise its journey south.
Museum chairman Jim McDonnell said: “It has taken three or four months to get it in situ, loaded on and brought down for restoration.
“Internally, about 70% of the tram is still intact, so it is quite amazing to be tucked away like this.
“Unfortunately, there are not many more of these trams, so to come across them is very rare.
“There are quite a few from Glasgow and Edinburgh, but all the Dundee ones were destroyed and I would be surprised if there were any more from Aberdeen.
“We are hoping that within about two years we will have it in a condition to display it.”
