Police are appealing for information following the theft of a memorial plaque from Aberdour Beach sometime over the past few months.
The incident happened sometime between November 2015 and 14th February 2016 at North Point.
A family had erected the plaque in memory of their father, who had his ashes scattered in the area in 2014.
When a family member went to pay their respects at the site they noticed the mahogany and stainless steel plate had been stolen and contacted police.
Local officers are now carrying out inquiries to trace those responsible and anyone who can assist with their investigation is asked to come forward.
Constable Kate Blackwell from Dalgetty Bay Police Station said: “This family have been left deeply upset at the theft of this plaque, which was put in place in memory of their father.
“We currently do not have a definitive time period for when this theft occurred and so would ask that anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around North Point at Aberdour Beach over the past three months contacts police immediately.
“In addition, anyone with any further information that can help us identify the suspects for this incident should also get in touch.”
