Courier readers will be rooting for Stevie McCrorie as the Fife firefighter battles for a place in the semi-final of The Voice.
The 29-year-old father of one is the bookies’ favourite to win the BBC One talent contest.
When he performs on tonight’s live show Stevie will bid to become the first Scot to win in four series of the hit show.
The singing sensation was selected by coach Ricky Wilson in last Sunday’s episode as one of his final three, alongside Autumn Sharif and Emmanuel Nwamadi.
His colleagues from Kirkcaldy Fire Station are among Stevie’s legion of fans who will be cheering him on tonight.
Stevie, from Alva in Clackmannanshire, refused to reveal the song chosen for him but said: “The artist is well known but the song isn’t.
“It has a really nice melody and good lyrics so I’m quite happy with it.
“I do worry that people won’t know it but based on public reaction so far I think people will get behind me if I sing it well and that’s all that matters.”
Despite delivering show-stopping performances, Stevie has struggled with nerves during the competition.
He said: “I’m trying not to get too nervous and just enjoy the experience.
“The competition is pretty fierce and every one of us is completely different but all I can do is my best.”
Stevie’s wife Amy and his brothers will be in the audience for tonight’s show, while many of his friends and family will be watching on a big screen at Tillicoultry Golf Club.
Urging people to vote, Stevie said: “There’s never been a Scottish winner so it would be pretty cool to do it for the country.”
