A Fife man found in possession of £60,000 worth of Class A drugs earlier this year has been jailed.
Robert Dunsire, 39, was sentenced to 14 months in prison when he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
His appearance follows the recovery of around 6kg of amphetamine after officers searched his home in Strathkinnes Road, Kirkcaldy, on March 23.
Police said the drugs had an estimated value of £60,000 and Dunsire was subsequently charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
He pleaded guilty last month.
Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Gray from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit said: “This huge quantity of amphetamine was found within Dunsire’s home address and demonstrated his involvement in the distribution of Class A drugs within the communities of Kirkcaldy.
“As a result of vital intelligence from the public we were able to carry out enforcement activity, which allowed us to seize this amphetamine before it could make its way onto the streets of Fife.
“The public can rest assured that any information we receive in relation to drugs offences, will be treated with the utmost seriousness and will be acted upon accordingly.”
