Search for man seen entering water at Clackmannanshire Bridge

Emergency services are searching for a man who was seen to enter the water from the Clackmannanshire Bridge in the early hours of Friday morning.

The bridge has been closed in both directions for several hours while police carry out investigations, and that has led to long tailbacks in and around the Kincardine area.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police and coastguard helicopters are involved in the search along with colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”

It is not yet known the exact circumstances behind the incident, although sources close to the investigation have suggested there is no known or obvious connection to the armed robbery in Kirkcaldy earlier this week.
