Major housing development to go ahead in Blairhall

Plans to build almost 80 new homes in Blairhall have been given the go-ahead.

Land Regeneration and Development Limited had asked for planning permission in principle for a housing development to the east of South Avenue in the village.

West Fife planning committee agreed to grant permission for the 2.6-hectare site, which could include up to 77 houses.

Approval is subject to a legal agreement being drawn up, which includes a contribution to education, a funding strategy to provide money for the remediation of the nearby Comrie Colliery and 25% affordable housing across the site.
