I’m running for Frank’s Law but I need your name, not your money

Post Thumbnail

I’ve never run a half marathon before.

Actually, I’d never run 5k before the winter which has just passed.

But in an effort to keep myself out of the pub I took up pounding pavements with a pal and actually discovered I quite enjoyed it.

As such I’ll be running the Scottish half marathon on September 19, almost exactly a year after the peak point of running around for work rather than pleasure.

I’ve decided not to try and raise money for any causes, noble as they may be, but will instead be promoting awareness and increasing pressure on the Scottish Government to introduce Frank’s Law.

Amanda Kopel has been championing free personal care for dementia sufferers under the age of 65 for years. Her husband Frank, the Dundee United and Manchester United legend, was diagnosed with dementia at only 59.

He passed away last April, shortly after his 65th birthday, and the family paid thousands of pounds in care costs for him until just weeks before his death simply because of his age.

It’s way past time for a fairer system.

So please sign my petition to keep the pressure on ministers. It’ll only take moment of your time but could make all the difference.
