Spectacular fire guts shops in Carnoustie High Street

A SPECTACULAR fire in Carnoustie High Street was the climax of a busy night for crews in Angus on Friday.
Emergency services were tested by three incidents in quick succession, with police and dozens of firefighters involved in bringing them under control.
No one was injured in any of the incidents and investigations are continuing into the two major outbreaks, which saw a six-figure home destroyed on the Seaton Park estate to the east of Arbroath and two shops the Perfect laundrette and Carnoustie Country Larder greengrocer and delicatessen devastated.
Crews also had to deal with a more minor fire in a flat in Arbroath.
