The police will be on patrol in the Viewmount area of Forfar today following complaints about anti-social behaviour particularly the disposal of drug paraphernalia.
Officers from the community task force will carry out the exercise in conjunction with community wardens and will be speaking to residents in a bid to learn more about their concerns.
They will then make recommendations to Angus Council about appropriate methods of crime prevention for the area.
PC Kirsty Clayton said the force had also received complaints regarding problems in neighbouring areas such as New Road, St James Road and the Glens.
“Those experiencing the daily grind of anti-social behaviour deserve a prompt and effective response and together with our partners we want to reassure local residents that we will do everything within our power to tackle their concerns.
“I’d also like to encourage local residents to come and talk to us at the police events vehicle which will be situated in Viewmount between noon and 8pm.
“By working together we can make a real difference in the community.”
