A charity football match in memory of a Brechin teenager who died of a brain haemorrhage last year will take place at Glebe Park.
Andrew Crowe will be honoured at the event on April 17, which has been partly organised by his family.
The 15 year old touched the lives of many in the community and, as a tribute, all proceeds from the event will be shared between Help for Heroes and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.
Andrew was determined to join the Royal Marines upon finishing Brechin High School and once ran from Brechin to Arbroath to lay flowers on the grave of a commando killed in action.
His mother, Mayra Lucia, said she was touched by the way in which his many friends wanted to remember him.
She added, “It was the children’s idea to organise the match and almost straight away they were given permission to use Glebe Park.
“Although Andrew himself was not a footballer, he was very sporty. So this is a nice way to remember him.”
The teams will be selected by Andrew’s younger brother Stuart.
Those wishing to attend the match are asked to make a suggested donation of £2.
Kick-off will be at 2pm, with the gates opening at 1.30pm.
