Carnoustie Caledonia Golf Club meeting to discuss female member’s expulsion
ByNews reporter
Members of a Carnoustie golf club are being called to a special meeting tonight to discuss the expulsion of a female member.
Susan Sneddon is challenging her expulsion by the Caledonia Club and has raised an action at the Court of Session seeking a judicial review of the move.
Members have been called to the club in Links Parade this evening, and in the calling note have been told “the sole purpose of the meeting is to discuss the expulsion of Susan Sneddon and citation served on the Caledonia Golf Club by Susan Sneddon.”
A copy of the citation is available only to members on request from the club.
Mrs Sneddon is a prominent club player and has won monthly medals and other competitions.
Inquiries at the club as to the reason for the situation were passed on to club secretary Robin Reyner, who referred the calls to the club’s solicitor, Michael Brown, in Dundee.
Mr Brown said, “I am not in a position to make any comment at this stage.”
Dundee solicitor Andrew Manderson, who is acting for Mrs Sneddon, did not return our calls.
