Gas chiefs have confirmed that a main Angus road closure was a precautionary measure following a road accident on Saturday.
The A933 between Arbroath and Friockheim was shut for several hours after a car left the road on a bend near Denmark, just north of Colliston.
Police attended the incident, around 4pm, and Tayside Contracts were then called out to put a closure in place, with traffic being diverted northbound at Colliston village and southbound at Legaston Brae.
Early indications were that the vehicle may have struck a gas main but a SGN spokesperson has confirmed that only the marker post was damaged in the accident.
The driver of the car is understood to have escaped serious injury.
