Locals asked to decide best site for new park in grounds of Grange Primary

Plans are being developed for a children’s play area at Grange Primary School in Monifieth.
Angus Council has identified two sites inside the school boundary. One is next to Grange Road and the other further from the road in the heart of the grounds and directly accessible by children who attend the school’s additional support needs unit.
Both the proposed play areas would be accessible to the wider public at all times using suitable perimeter fencing and gates.
Council communities convener Donald Morrison said: “The need for a new playground in west Monifieth was identified in a review of all public play provision in Angus.
“The proposals, being developed by our education and the parks and burial grounds departments, are for a fully equipped playpark for four to 14-year-olds.”
The plans include a wheelchair accessible roundabout, a nest swing and sensory games.
Mr Morrison added: “We want to hear from local people about the precise location of the proposed development.”
A questionnaire has gone out to local residents and the families of every child at the school and people can also respond on the council website.
