A 30-year-old Arbroath man remains in a critical condition in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following a weekend accident on the A92 Arbroath to Montrose road.
The man, whose identity has not been released, suffered severe internal injuries understood to include bleeding from his liver when he was thrown from his black Vauxhall Astra car in the single-vehicle crash near the road leading to Courthill Farm at 8.15am on Saturday.
His injuries were initially described as “life-threatening” but, having undergone surgery on Monday and again on Thursday, his condition has been stabilised.
Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the accident, asking anyone who saw the actual crash or a car matching this colour, make and model heading north towards Montrose at around that time on Saturday.
Anyone with information should contact the police on 0300 111 2222.
