Dundee FC’s outstanding debt to Tayside Police for the cost of policing matches at Dens Park is £31,500.
It is believed the club have missed payment for a number of games. However, the debt will not affect police cover for Saturday’s game at Dens Park, as the bill will be paid under the terms of administration.
A police spokeswoman said, “I can confirm that Dundee Football Club have an outstanding bill for £31,500 for the cost of policing football matches.
“We are continuing to work with the club and the administrators in order to resolve the situation.”
Football clubs must pay for policing for their home matches.
The club was forced into administration a week ago and administrator Bryan Jackson told fans £500,000 must be found to save it.
Dundee FC managing director Harry MacLean claims to have secured promises of cash from local businessmen totalling £125,000, while fans have managed to raise £43,000.
