Police are hunting suspected fire-raisers believed to have deliberately set two blazes at a Dundee tenement.
Firefighters confirmed children could have been endangered by two early-morning fires at Court Street.
A joint investigation is under way between Scottish Fire and Rescue and the police but officers confirmed they were looking to speak to two men in their twenties.
A police spokesperson said: “One of the men was wearing a red hooded top and had a dark-coloured beard and the other man was clean shaven and was wearing a grey hooded top.”
Nine people had to be evacuated from the incident, including three who were escorted down ladders.
Another six, including a family with young children, were led to safety by fire crews using breathing apparatus in the same incident, which occurred around 4am.
An appliance was called out to the close at around 1.30am, after reports of carpet and a wheelie bin on fire, but they were quickly extinguished.
