Paedophile Connor Tait back behind bars after going for drink with his father
ByGraeme Ogston
A notorious Dundee paedophile is back behind bars – after going for a drink with his father.
Sex predator Connor Tait had been released on licence following a jail term for sexually assaulting a schoolboy in 2013.
But just days after his release he was spotted out drinking in Broughty Ferry, breaching a condition of the licence not to consume alcohol.
Tait was jailed for four years and ordered to be kept under supervision for a further four years after he was found guilty of committing the attack in Dundee on July 4 2013.
He appealed against the conviction and sentence and had his prison term reduced to three-and-a-half years, with the period on licence remaining the same.
Appeal judges had decided the original conviction should be quashed and replaced by a more limited one deleting an aggravation to the sexual assault on the boy.
The Courier has learned that the 23-year-old is now set to appear in court in Glasgow on October 21 on new charges alleging threatening and abusive behaviour and assault.
