The body washed up between the castle and lifeboat station on September 6 and police had been working to establish who it belonged to. Today, they confirmed it was 57-year-old Stephen Young, who lived in the Dunblane area. Relatives recognised him through media appeals, which included an artist’s impression of him released last week. The police appeals for information attracted calls from across the UK and abroad, and officers have thanked the public for their help. There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Young’s death.
