A woman who was in charge of a one-year-old baby while she was drunk twice assaulted a police officer who had been called out by her anxious friends.
Kimberley Stafford kicked PC Danielle McLaren then punched her as the officer was organising a social worker to look after the child.
Stafford, 21, admitted the assaults, which happened in the early hours of Saturday.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard shortly before midnight Stafford’s friends had contacted police as she was heavily intoxicated and had locked herself in the house with the child.
Police gained entry and saw the accused standing beside the cot and lifting the child.
There was an empty bottle of wine and a glass nearby and when the officers spoke Stafford stumbled, depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson said.
She said the child welfare authority was contacted and Stafford became upset and aggressive towards the officers, kicking PC McLaren and knocking her backwards.
She was restrained but when the social worker came for the child, she became aggressive again and punched the officer.
Ms Robertson said Stafford was cautioned and charged 24 hours later.
Sheriff Way deferred sentence until March 24, granting her bail.
