Brewer and pub retailer Greene King hopes to create up to 65 full- and part-time jobs in Dundee with a new pub and restaurant development.
The company which owns the Belhaven beer brand in Scotland is hoping to gain permission for a new-build property on development land on King’s Cross Road.
The proposed new eaterie would come under Greene King’s Cloverleaf brand which operates 16 properties across the north of England but which does not yet have a presence north of the border.
The majority of Cloverleaf developments include a restaurant and bar as well as a children’s play area.
If approved, the new restaurant would add to Greene King’s eight-strong portfolio of pubs and restaurants in the city.
Members of the public will get their first taste of the project at a pre-application consultation meeting to be held at Coldside Library next Monday.
A Greene King spokesman said: “We are inviting the local community to find out more about the new restaurant we are planning in Dundee, with an informal consultation on Monday.
“We are looking to build the restaurant on King’s Cross Road, a brownfield site. This will create approximately 65 local full-time and part-time jobs.”
