Christmas cheer was presented to a group of homeless and other people in Dundee.
About 30 men and women with no homes or no family or friends to share festive fun were invited to a lunch of turkey and trimmings at the charity’s Strathmore Lodge.
“We do this every year and this year it has been attended by more people than ever,” said centre manager Geoff Findlay.
“It’s a sign of the economic problems in society. People are losing their jobs and their homes or are struggling with alcohol or drug addiction problems and are coming to us. If we weren’t here, they’d be on the street today.
“There are also people who are on their own and who come here for a bit of company, and we’re delighted to see them all.
“They’re having a proper Christmas meal and are enjoying each other’s company.”
The meal was provided by the Salvation Army and all who attended were given presents donated by local shops and traders, and by the public at large.
