A man drove around a car park with his father holding on to his bonnet, Perth Sheriff Court has heard.
Kerr McGouldrick, 20, of Main Street, Cairneyhill, had been causing his parents concern and matters came to a head when he had a “row” with his mother and then found his father at a motor services station.
He admitted that on February 18, in the car park of Kinross Moto services and on the A977 Kinross to Kincardine Bridge road, he drove culpably and recklessly by driving towards his father, James Sr, continued to drive while his father was on the car bonnet, drove in the car park at speed and braked sharply in an effort to dislodge his father, then braked sharply on the A977, causing his father to fall on to the ground.
McGouldrick was ordered to carry out 300 hours’ unpaid work in the community and banned from driving for 10 months.
Depute fiscal Jim Eodanable said: “The accused’s father wanted to speak to him but the accused drove off with his father’s hands on the bonnet.
“His father suffered grazed elbows and knees.”
McGouldrick’s solicitor said his client “very much regretted” the incident.
