Fife women urged to take precautions this Christmas
ByThe Courier Reporter
Women across Fife are being advised to take simple steps to prevent themselves from becoming victims of crime this Christmas.
Fife Constabulary are asking women to plan all journeys in advance, to look confident in public places and avoid taking unnecessary risks by telling somebody where you are going and to notify others if there are any changes to your personal schedule.
It comes after Fife Constabulary teamed up with personnel at RAF Leuchars to hold a personal safety evening at Leuchars Community Centre.
PC Paul Buttercase, Community Safety Officer for North East Fife, said: “These courses are run to reassure women that the fear of becoming a victim of crime is far greater than the reality.
“We also aim to provide the women with the basic skill and confidence to assess a situation and safely take evasive action.”
