A firebug who started two blazes in Dunfermline has still to complete his sentence more than three years after committing the offences.
Ross Mitchell started two fires within four days in February 2012 to bins at St Margaret’s Well and Thistle Street causing extensive damage.
He was initially given a community payback order and told to pay £1,000 compensation.
He paid back only £50 towards the damage, however, and so was given a restriction of liberty ‘tag’, which he then breached on four occasions.
As a result, Mitchell, 27, of Southfield Avenue, Ballingry, was back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Charles Macnair told Mitchell he would give him one last chance and extended the restriction of liberty order for six weeks.
