Police in Fife are appealing for information after someone tried to cut through a live electrical cable in Methil.
The incident happened at Steelworks Brae between 1pm on Saturday March 5 and 8am on Monday March 7.
The person entered the yard and caused around £1,500 worth of damage.
Sergeant Craig Fyall, of Levenmouth Police Station, said: “This was a highly dangerous and reckless thing to do.
“It was a high-voltage cable so there could have been serious consequences. The cost for the business to repair this is substantial.
”If anyone remembers seeing someone acting suspiciously around the steelworks at these times, please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
